Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

Today saw the start of 'Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori' or 'Maori Language Week'.

As part of this, each day after morning tea the children can choose to go to any classroom in the school and listen to the teacher read a story about a Maori myth or legend.

Today all of our Year 6 students spent the day at Chanel College to learn more about what the College can offer them. They had a great time as the photographs below show.

A visit to Room 12

This morning I enjoyed spending some time in Room 12. As I entered the room, the first thing that struck me was the wonderful art work that the children had created. There were fantastic images of the Holy Spirit as well as images linked to the Inquiry topic showing soldiers at war.

I then enjoyed listening to William and Jaykob present the maths problem that Mrs. Simmonds had set them earlier in the term. Both boys had to show how they would use $1,000,000 to make money over a one year period.

The project certainly made the boys use the maths brain and they did a fantastic job! Tino pai boys.
